I get a lot of email forwards from my parents. Some of them are really, honestly worth sharing--but I hate to spam people who don't give a shit.
I also run across a lot of similar things, in whatever medium, forum, or genre, that bear jotting down, sharing, or repeating in some way.
This way, I'm letting whomever wants to opt in, opt in.
